Soo... if I'm being honest I truly don't know much about makeup. However, it is on my bucket list (along with many other things) to educate myself & learn more about makeup products, techniques, etc.. I am big on buying affordable products so I normally buy makeup products right from Rite Aid or CVS, as drugstore it usually works well with my budget. Although I still buy a large number of beauty products from drug stores, I have to say I do notice a difference 99% of the time when I treat myself to "higher end" products.
I think it depends on what you are looking for - if I am going about my normal day-to-day routine, I am perfectly content applying my go-to drug store makeup products. However, after getting to try Laura Mercier (Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation) I have found a new fave! I keep it real, and when they say "longwear" they are not kidding. On the first day of trying the foundation out, I started with applying my Translucent Loose Setting Powder using my Velour Puff. I, then, applied my foundation around 9 am before a meeting. I had an event to attend later that day beginning at 5 pm, and I did not need to touch up my face at all! I also love how well the shade (4w2- Chai) blends with my skin tone - it's a match made in heaven.
Don't get me wrong I still see nothing wrong with my drugstore makeup, which does the trick for me on an average day & definitely doesn't break the bank -- BUT, for longer days and fancy events I will be turning to my new Flawless Fusion foundation for longer and better coverage.
