My eShakti Experience

7:50 PM

While I absolutely love fashion, clothing and I can sometimes have a love/hate relationship. Normally I find myself gawking at the most adorable outfits on mannequins, until I go to try it on myself and find that it does not fit, or look half as good on me. Being only about 5'2'', I have to look for bottoms and dresses that are not too long, but that also have some room in the middle for my wide hips. Let's just say, 90% of my shopping trips end up being much longer than expected, even when I am looking for the simplest pieces of clothing to add to my wardrobe.

Recently, while looking through my social media feeds, I came upon a website called eShakti. Have you ever heard of it? They are an online clothing company that offers sizes 0-36W, with a wide variety of custom sizes and style options! When I continued seeing it on my newsfeed, I added eShakti to my mental bucket list as a clothing website to try. I also made an effort to check the website out and found that each piece of clothing allows you to adjust the length, sleeve length, and more. I was especially interested because as a recent college grad,  many of their clothing items are perfect for the business professional environment. So needless to say, when I received an email offering me a free clothing item in exchange for a review, I was elated. I will share my experience with the website and ordering/selection process, as well as my dress itself.

When I first opened the website, I made sure to take my time scrolling through to make sure that I made the right choice. After scrolling, I decided on the Zip Front Asymmetric Hem Dress in colors: Cinnamon/Black. I loved the unique color and the asymmetrical hemline, and the diagonal zipper from the turtle neck gave it an edgy touch. I knew that I owned nothing like it, so I stepped a bit outside of my comfort zone and went for it.

When I selected the dress, I was prompted to fill out my custom measurements. I attempted to measure the different areas of my body on my own, but I decided to avoid the struggle and have my sister help me. It is a lot easier to have someone assist you with the tape measurer, rather than try to do it on your own. I would definitely suggest paying the extra $7.50 to have your order custom fit and tailored to your body. My advice would be to closely double-check your measurements before placing your order.

Soon after, I received my email saying that my dress was shipped, and in about two weeks my dress arrived! They use DSL shipping, and the package was dropped off at my door. I was relieved when it arrived, and could not wait to open it. The dress appeared exactly as it looked online! The only test was, will it fit? And, indeed it did. Even with taking my measurements, I was still curious if it really would fit perfectly because it was my first ever custom-fit order, but it did! I am almost positive, if I had ordered a regular size, it may have been a bit tight and/or loose in certain areas, since my body is a bit disproportionate.

I was also thrilled that I decided to go with below knee length because it will be perfect for a day at work, or a business casual event, where I am not trying to show off any "goods," haha. There were other styles I saw on the site, that I would go for a mini or above knee length selection, but I think this style works with a longer length.

So overall my first experience with eShakti was a splendid one, and I definitely plan to order more from them in the future. I was in love with the look, fit, and texture of my dress - the quality was great, too, even better than I had expected. One of my favorite parts about the company is that it is the only online women's apparel company offering sizes 0-32W. The site is not created for specific body structures, but is catered towards women of all sizes!

Head to eShakti and check them out for yourself!
