Personalized Products by Formulate: Review + Giveaway!

So just when I thought I was content with the products I currently have, the whole game changed. I learned about Formulate, a company who works to literally formulate shampoo and conditioner for you based on your scalp and hair - more specifically, your "needs, wants, lifestyle and environment." I could not pass this opportunity up because so often we find ourselves saying, "Ugh, I just can't find products that are totally right for me," or "I like this product, but I wish the scent was different." And the list goes on... So you better believe, I was jumping with joy at the chance to experience my very own personalized products. Now, it's time to share my review with you all!
HOW the PROCESS WORKS:
In order to to have products made for you - it's essential that Formulate learns about you and your hair. I began with a consultation, where I answered a series of questions. Everything is straight forward and it did not take me long to complete. All questions had an impact on the ingredients that were going to be used in my shampoo + conditioner.
I was asked my hair color, length and more simple questions, along with questions like "How oily is your hair?" "How sensitive is your scalp?" I appreciated these more in-depth questions because it made me realize how much thought goes into the ingredients that would be used to design my products. For example, if you have a very sensitive scalp - it should be a relief knowing that the company is aware and is going to use the best ingredients to help that. You even get to choose your scent - which was one of my favorite things to do. I chose Verdant, which includes grass, lilies, and eucalyptus.

Right after I completed my consultation, I was contacted again by Caroline, a Formulate rep, who let me know the products would be worked on and would be sent out shortly following. She also made it very clear that I might not immediately find my perfect formula right out of the gate. She wanted honest feedback after I started using them, sharing what I liked and didn't like to ensure that I get my products to perfection. I was so thrilled to know that if they didn't work to my liking, or if there was something more that I wanted, Formulate would be happy to make changes and send new ones. This is incredible customer service; I truly feel like the company and brand cares about their clients, they are not just out to take your money, which goes such a long way with me.
When the products arrived, I was impressed by how nicely they were packaged. The pumps were separate from the shampoo + conditioner, as well. This makes it easy to transport them into other, travel size bottles if I wanted to. However, I chose to put the pumps right in, which was very easy to do. I also received a print-out with everything that I had selected during my online consultation. The sheet also lists out "where I'm going" based on what I selected that I want for my hair, and it tells how many pumps to use and exactly how to use the shampoo and conditioner.
So I'm sure you're wondering how they worked for me? So far, so good! I LOVE them. It was about time that my hair needed new products, as my hair tends to get used to products if I use the same brand for too long. These were the perfect change for my hair. I have noticed after the second wash, my hair seems to be shinier, especially at my roots. My definition is also great as soon as it dries - already I can see that the hydration and nourishing of my roots is happening! I will say that I noticed I needed more than the recommended pumps for the conditioner because it just wasn't giving me that moisturized feeling with 4 pumps. I needed more to really feel like it was conditioning my hair and doing its job. The shampoo, however, worked perfectly from the start. I am really looking forward to see if it helps lengthen my hair, as well, and I am hopeful that they will.
